The first six years of a child’s life is an amazing time in human development, when the brain is developing connections faster than at any other time in a person’s life. What young children learn during this stage will be the foundation to support learning and life successes.
To ensure we are meeting the developmental and identified needs of families of young children (ages 3 to 6), Livingstone Range School Division offers a variety of programs both school based and within many licensed private community child care centres for eligible children.
Livingstone Range School Division offers kindergarten programs in all of our elementary schools, for children who are 5 on or before December 31 of the school year for which they are registering.
Children identified with severe delays, who are 3 years of age on or before December 31 of the year they are registering, may be eligible for Program Unit Funding (PUF).
Children identified with mild to moderate delays, who are 4 years of age on or before December 31 of the year they are registering, may be eligible for funding to support programming.
Children who have identified delays have access to integrated supports that may include involvement of a speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, behavioural specialist teacher, psychologist, vision consultant or hearing consultant, depending on their area(s) of need.
Please contact the Early Learning Coordinator, Lisa Furukawa at firstname.lastname@example.org (403) 625-3356 or your community school for more information about our programs and community partners.
