LRSD would like to commemorate the 140th Anniversary of Treaty 7 on September 22. We strive to uphold the spirit and intent of Treaty 7 through:
our mission to develop critical thinkers and lifelong learners who become contributing citizens;
our divisional goal of supporting success for all learners;
advocacy to facilitate success of First Nations students.
September 30 - Orange Shirt Day “Every Child Matters”

October 20, 2017- Divisional Day
Find out how two videos and one orange shirt led to a year-long Project of Heart at our October 20 Divisional Day in a session led by Julaine Guitton, Grade 5/6 teacher at Stavely Elementary School.
As of August 28, 2017 all schools and staff completed the Blanket Exercise, “an experiential teaching tool for grades 4-12 and adults that helps participants understand the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada (KAIROS).” If you have not participated in this exercise or would like to participate again, it will be facilitated by Carol Lach and Lorraine Morning Bull at Divisional Day.
