Livingstone Range School Division is pleased to announce that Andrea Donnelly has been named Assistant Principal of W.A. Day Elementary School in Fort Macleod beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.
Donnelly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia (Kelowna) and a Bachelor of Elementary Education degree from the University of Victoria (Kelowna). She has 20 years of teaching experience, including learning support, and literacy intervention. She is currently the Learning Support teacher at W.A. Day.
"Andrea has shown a passion and dedication for the learning of Fort Macleod students for many years, both as a classroom teacher and as the learning support teacher here at W.A Day," says Nick Beer, Principal of W.A. Day Elementary School. "I am excited to be working with her as she moves into her new role as Assistant Principal. Her wealth of experience and knowledge will continue to be a benefit for our school community."
Donnelly, whose career journey includes teaching Kindergarten through Grade 6, is thrilled to step into the role of Assistant Principal at W.A. Day Elementary School. "This new opportunity fills me with excitement as I continue to grow in my career and work alongside an amazing team to help every student thrive," says Donnelly. "I look forward to bringing my experiences, enthusiasm, and love for lifelong learning to this new chapter!"
Outside of her professional life, Donnelly has a passion for a wide range of hobbies — from mountain biking and rock climbing to running, fishing, hunting, and travel. She feels lucky to share her adventures with her husband and two teenage children, and now a new puppy, Tucker (who she hopes will become their future hunting dog).
Congratulations to Andrea Donnelly on her new role.
