Attendance Matters
We work with families to eliminate unnecessary absences and ensure regular attendance for student success.
Regular school attendance is critical for a child's ability to learn, grow, and develop social skills. The Alberta Education Act requires children and youth between the ages of 6 and 16 to attend school.
In Livingstone Range School Division, we strive to provide welcoming, safe, and caring schools with excellent learning environments. School attendance is a key part of success in learning and life.
Tips for Parents:
- Prioritize school
- Communicate the importance of regular attendance
- Have regular evening and homework routines
- Schedule family events with the school calendar in mind
- Try to schedule appointments for non-school hours when possible
It might not seem like much, but being late or missing school adds up for the 13 years of schooling from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
If attendance is becoming a concern, talk to your child's teacher.
