Financial Literacy for High School Students

Posted on

Students can now learn more about saving, budgeting, and investing, thanks to an Alberta Education partnership with Enriched Academy. Each Grade 10-12 student in Livingstone Range School Division will have access to the program's online financial literacy tools and resources.

All students will receive an individual program licence for Enriched Academy’s online course, which includes lifetime access to the online platform, courses, and tools. Plus, all teachers can receive training on the Enriched platform and, like students, receive an individual lifetime program licence.

Typically, students will start their Enriched Academy financial literacy learning through the CALM course. The platform is a resource for teachers and students, and provides a blended learning environment where students can watch video lessons, take quizzes, and use tools to make their own budget and financial plan.

In addition, LRSD Career Practitioners will work with Grade 12 students to help them access and use the program in preparation for life after high school.

LRSD's Student Success Plan 2021-2024 includes a focus on 21st century knowledge, skills, and attributes. This partnership with Enriched Academy will certainly help students understand financial literacy and make the most of their resources now and in the future.
