Ian Bergen New Grounds/Maintenance Staff
Posted onLivingstone Range School Division is pleased to welcome Ian Bergen to the team.
Ian will be responsible for LRSD grounds year-round, including snow removal, lawns and weed control, and general maintenance. He brings many years of experience in equipment operation and maintenance, health and safety, and customer service, and is certified in skid steer and forklift operation. Most recently, Ian oversaw provincial park site operations and performed maintenance and grounds work throughout the Southwest Alberta and Castle Districts with Alberta Environment & Parks.
"We are glad to have Ian join our maintenance team," says Greg Gorzitza, Coordinator of Facilities. "While he will mainly be focused on grounds throughout the Division he will also assist our tradesmen when needed. I'm sure he will be a great addition to LRSD."
Ian is excited to start a new career with the Division. "I look forward to contributing what knowledge I have acquired throughout my previous roles to the team here," says Ian, "and am eager to be learning many new skills from the already awesome maintenance crew in place."
Raised in Fort Macleod, Ian is an F.P. Walshe School alumnus. He enjoys fly fishing, hiking, hunting, and camping throughout Southern Alberta, Southeast BC, and Montana. He has even spent some time as a fly fishing guide and has written a number of articles for outdoor publications and online magazines. Ian lives in Fort Macleod with his wife and 2-year-old son.
