Meipsy Shackleford Named Principal of Isabelle Sellon School

Livingstone Range School Division is pleased to announce that Meipsy Shackleford has been named Principal of Isabelle Sellon School in Blairmore beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.
Shackleford holds Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education degrees from the University of Lethbridge and a Masters in Educational Technology from the University of British Columbia. With 24 years of teaching experience, Shackleford was a learning support teacher for 8 years and has been in school administration for 16 years. She has served as Isabelle Sellon's Assistant Principal since 2017.
"We are excited to have Meipsy move into the role of Principal at Isabelle Sellon," says Richard Feller, Deputy Superintendent of Human & Learning Services. "We are confident that her skills, passion, and commitment to community will continue the high academic achievement and the place-based programming that makes ISS special and unique."
Shackleford looks forward to this new position and opportunity at Isabelle Sellon School. "I am so happy to continue to work and foster deeper relationships with our wonderful staff, students, and families," she says. "I am also excited to see where our continued journey with Place-Based Learning and Leader in Me will take us!"
Married to Derek (also a teacher) and mom to two busy teenage children, Shackleford enjoys travelling and exploring the world, hiking in the mountains, or playing and relaxing on west coast beaches with her family and dog, Navi. She also likes catching up with good friends and sharing lots of laughter.
