PowerSchool Cybersecurity Incident

On January 7, 2025 we were informed by PowerSchool that on December 28, 2024, PowerSchool became aware of a potential cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to PowerSchool Student Information System ("SIS") customer data using a compromised credential.
Livingstone Range School Division ended our SIS contract with PowerSchool in 2021 our data was decommissioned from PowerSchool’s current system.
Through our own investigation, it is undetermined if LRSD archived staff and student data with PowerSchool was accessed or affected. We are awaiting confirmation and details from PowerSchool.
We take data and identity security very seriously. Please know that we are doing everything possible to learn more from PowerSchool. We will communicate with stakeholders if it is determined data has been compromised.
