Provincial Budget 2025

On February 27, 2025 the Alberta Government released the Provincial Budget 2025. This budget includes a 4.5% increase in Education spending, to $9.88 billion. In an email to school authorities across the province, Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides stated that funding will address record enrolment growth to hire additional teachers and classroom support staff, will support specialized learning needs, and will provide career education funding.
Additional details including the Alberta Education Funding Manual and School Authority Funding Profiles are not expected to be released until mid-March at the earliest. Once that information is made available Livingstone Range School Division will know the overall impact of the 2025 budget. We will share more information as it becomes available.
