Superintendent Seguin Resigns After 20 Years with LRSD

Posted on

The Board of Trustees has received the resignation of Superintendent Darryl Seguin, effective summer 2025. Seguin joined Livingstone Range School Division in 2005 as principal of G.R. Davis School, became principal of Willow Creek Composite High School in 2010, and began in Division office as Associate Superintendent in 2012. He has served as Superintendent since 2017.

"Darryl's contributions to Livingstone Range School Division are significant and lasting," says Lori Hodges, Board of Trustees Chair. "He has been instrumental in championing innovative programs such as Leader in Me, FACES summer education program, Livingstone Ski Academy, Indigenous land-based camps, PEAKS Campus, and alternative education programming to meet diverse student needs. These programs, along with meaningful relationships and his caring leadership will be an enduring legacy."

Grateful for the opportunities and experiences he's had in LRSD, Seguin feels privileged for his two decades in this educational community. "It has been an honour to work alongside such dedicated colleagues, staff, and community members, all of whom share a common goal of providing the highest quality education for our students," says Seguin. "Together, we have navigated challenges, celebrated achievements, and continuously strived to create a supportive, enriching environment where both students and educators can thrive."

Seguin informed the Board last week that he has accepted a position as Director/CEO with Sun West School Division in Saskatchewan. "This decision, though bittersweet, comes with a sense of fulfillment as I look back on my career and the privilege I've had to serve in this role," he says. "I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and success of Livingstone Range in the years ahead."

Hodges adds, "We have all been positively impacted by Darryl's leadership, integrity, and genuineness as a person. Although we are sad to see him leave, he will undoubtedly be an incredible asset in Sun West School Division. We wish him all the best in his new role."
