Posted onLivingstone Range School Division is pleased to announce that Tara Tanner has been named Colony Schools Principal beginning in the 2023-2024 school year. She will continue in her role as LRSD Pursuits Divisional Principal.
Tara holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master’s of Education degree from the University of Alberta. An educator for 24 years, Tara was the principal of Matthew Halton High School in Pincher Creek prior to moving to Division Office to become a Divisional principal overseeing LRSD Pursuits. “We're excited to have Tara work more closely with the Hutterite Colony School communities next year,” says Superintendent Darryl Seguin. “Her experience as a school administrator and teacher with Livingstone Range School Division is exemplary and we are confident that she will quickly establish a good working relationship with Colony School students, parents, and staff. Her comprehensive understanding of instructional coaching and the importance of professional development will be an asset to staff that are working at a distance from one another in our 13 Colony Schools.”
Looking forward to this new opportunity, Tara says, “I am very excited to begin working with our Colony families and teachers as we forge new relationships and work together for the betterment of our students.”
In her spare time, Tara enjoys traveling to new places, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with her family.
Congratulations to Tara on her additional leadership role with Livingstone Range School Division.
