Posted onLivingstone Range School Division is pleased to announce that Charlee Mappin has been named Principal of A.B. Daley Community School in Nanton beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.
Charlee holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and is completing her Master of Education degree in Leadership from the City University of Seattle in Canada. She has five years of teaching experience plus five years as a school principal of a pre-Kindergarten to Grade 9 school. During her time as principal, Charlee and her staff improved the reading scores of students from 50% at-grade-level reading to above 70% at-grade-level reading over the course of three years through targeted literacy interventions, literacy games, guided reading groups, and leveraging the unique opportunity that combined grades gave them to meet the needs of their students.
“Charlee’s rural Alberta leadership experience, passion for literacy and numeracy, and ability to create positive relationships makes her an ideal Principal for A.B Daley,” says Superintendent Darryl Seguin. “We feel confident that Charlee will be an excellent fit for the culture, staff, and students of the school.”
As an educator and leader, Charlee believes in providing students with the best possible educational experiences while growing the potential of the people around her.
“I am incredibly excited to join the A.B. Daley team as principal this fall,” she says. “I am committed to uphold and continue the positive school culture that has been built and established already by the excellent staff at A.B. Daley. I believe that positive relationships with the students, staff, parents, and the community are at the core of our work as leaders and educators. I look forward to helping grow the potential of our students and honoring their unique abilities.”
Congratulations to Charlee on her new Principal role at A.B. Daley.
